Elisabeth Abiri

Elisabeth Abiri is Ph.D. and senior advisor at Emerga Research & Consulting. Her dissertation focused on the securitization of migration policy-making, using the case of Swedish migration policy changes during the 1990s.

Elisabeth has for over 20 years worked with the implementation of human rights in different sectors and levels. Elisabeth was one of the team that intitated and developed the master programme in Human Rights and the international master programme in Human Rights Practice at the University of Gothenburg, She was the chairperson of the Delegation of Human Rights in Sweden between 2006 and 2010.

Since 2012 Elisabeth is working at Emerga supporting the public, private and civil society sectors with transferring human rights into daily practice e.g. the Cities of Stockholm and Örebro, the Region Västra Götaland, Swedish Association of Local and Regional Authorities, the European Union's Bureau for Fundamental Rights, the Council of Europe and the UNDP in Georgia, Ukraine and Nepal.
