Henric Benesch

Henric Benesch (1972) is an architect, designer and researcher with a particular interest in socio-spatial and socio-temporal aspects of knowledge production within research, education and urban development.

He has a master degree in Architecture, completed in 2000 at Chalmers and PhD in Design completed in 2010 in HDK. For the past years he has primarily been involved in various artistic and transdisciplinary research projects dealing issues of urban development, mobilisation, participation, empowerment and representation from a design perspective – expanding old and exploring new forms or formats of knowledge production.

Currently he is a researcher and educator at HDK where he from 2013 has been working as Coordinator for the Urban Cluster within the Critical Heritage Initiative at Gothenburg University. He is also member of the working group of Platform for Artistic Research Sweden (PARSE) and a member of the management group of The Swedish Faculty for Design Research and Research Education.

He is currently tutoring two PhD-students – one within the Marie Curie ITN Networks-project TRADERS – Training art and design researchers in participation for public space.
